How much is a tweet or facebook post worth?

I often find myself having conversations with people about social media – they don’t get it, what is this site or that app, what or why do people tweet (yes that was a recent question… maybe another post all together) and my favorite why do you check in.

Klout has really opened up some great brand engagement opportunities with @KloutPerks. It gives brands opportunities to get there product or service in the hands of influencers of the topics and or geographic area they need rather quickly. In most cases creating brand advocates.

After years of adding friends, updating statues, gaining followers, sending tweets, checking in and replying to people we have built a rapport with our friends, followers and fans about the thing we are passionate about. Klout knew I like to work out and like coffee, which made me eligible for a free sample of a new coffee flavored protein drink. @BigTran even went as far as asking me what flavor I would like, then preceded to send me not only a large container of my chosen flavor but also sent packets of their other flavors.

Some might find that scary that they know who we talk to the most or what we talk about the most. I am intrigued. I want to see how @KloutPerks can help brands from the ground up, and I want to see how they can help trusted brand launch/re-launch products.

Here is where my question comes into play. How much is a tweet or Facebook post worth? If you are a small business, new product, or just trying to rebrand how far would you go to offer @KloutPerks to have your product or service in the hands of influencers of your specific topic and or geographic area?

PS: Review of the new #FitFrappe from @BigTran coming soon…
